      The Kennett Farmers Market strives to encourage our customers to honor our precious environment. This week we seek to share small ways to save our planet’s resources.  The Market vendors encourage you to return any clean quart & pint produce containers and plant containers back for reuse. The Pickle guy is always happy to have his containers returned, as well.   Bring your own cloth bags to REUSE at the market and, thus, REDUCE the use of plastic bags.  RECYCLE used printer ink cartridges, old household batteries, plastic shopping bags, and old cell phones at the Market Table and we will give you a free reusable shopping bag.

Lacto-fermented Foods

Annemarie Butera is a wellness chef and educator in Delaware valley who is committed to the advocacy of healthy eating. She earned her degree in health and culinary arts from the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City. Butera now owns the Cucina Verde and is a regular to the Kennett Square Farmer’s Market. Cucina Verde is a cooking and wellness education company that aims to build community around the wonders of food. She uses methods of food processing and preservation that use only the healthiest ingredients. This week she will feature her lacto-fermented cherry chutney, lacto-fermented ketchup, and lacto-fermented vegetables. Make sure you stop by and taste her delicious foods this Friday at the Farmer’s Market!
