Celebrate strawberry season this Friday, May 25th at the Kennett Square Farmers Market!   Red, sweet, nutritious, and so delicious.  Our local farmers at Countryside Farms, Down To Earth Farm, and Frecon Farm are all bringing masses of luscious fresh berries available for purchase to serve with cream, make into  strawberry shortcake and strawberry preserves, or just eat them straight out of the box.  Or pick up a jar of the Pennsylvania Farm Show blue ribbon preserves from Jack’s Jams.   Designs by Francine will have chocolate-covered strawberries and La Cuchina Verde is making a strawberry salsa with lime and cilantro.  Flickerwood Wines will bring their Strawberry Fields dessert wine, a delicious blend of strawberries and rhubarb. And for a truly unique take on the fruit, Maiale Meats will offer a strawberry duck sausage.   Bayard Taylor Library will entertain the children with strawberry-themed crafts and stories.   The market is held along East State Street in downtown Kennett Square between 2 – 6 pm every Friday.  For more information on the Kennett Square Farmers Market, visit http://www.historickennettsquare.com/farmers and sign up for the e-newsletter.
