This year’s Fermentation Festival not only includes an exciting array of special vendors, demonstrations, and information; but a lively concert with a pre-show Happy Hour.  For an additional $10 concert goers are able to attend a tasting of local brews, spirits, hard cider, and cheeses at the Kennett Flash from 5:30-7:30PM this Friday October 1st.  

It’s hard to celebrate the magic of fermentation without a happy hour, and we are quite proud of the eclectic selection we have put together for you to enjoy thanks to the generousity of our local fermenting community.   The range of beverage ferments is really quite amazing, and a testament to the skills and creativity that lies within our region.  The Happy Hour line up includes:

SNAP and ROOT from Art in the Age Spirits

Frecon Farm will be sampling their Apple Wine, Peach Wine, and the Crabby Granny

McKenzie’s Brew House will be bringing along their Saison Vautour  farmhouse ale and their seasonal Oktoberfest

and last but not least, the always supportive Victory Brewing Company will have available to sample: Festbier, Prima Pils, Storm King Stout, and Hop Wallop.
Along with all the great fermented beverages we will also have a selection of local cheeses to sample.  On behalf of the Chester County Cheese Artisans local cheese expert Kate Stroh will be on hand to guide you through the perfect pairing of local goat and cow cheeses with the beverages on mentioned above.  Come enjoy this amazing opportunity to sample our local terroir.
