Resident Architect, Will Hurd, waits for your design related questions, large or small!

You may have noticed that we have a new market addition, in the way of what might appear to be the male, bearded version of Lucy…

The next time you pass by Will Hurd’s stand, say hello! He is located along State Street, next to Papa’s Pastries, and is eagerly awaiting your design related questions. Plus, you really can’t beat his going rate, only 25 cents per question! I recently had the opportunity to visit with Will at his welcoming (and quite refreshing, actually!) “office away from office,” to ask him a few questions about himself. By the time I arose from the perch, I felt quite inspired. Here’s what I learned…

Coming from an engineering background, Will takes the whole-systems approach of creative problem solving, to address all sorts of design related questions and snafus. “Everything begins with a question; what I like to do is solve problems,” says Will, and you are immediately disarmed. Never one to push an idea, or be too aggressive, Will waits patiently for the question to materialize, before setting forth on his path toward a solution. Will has chosen the Farmers’ Market as an ideal location to station his portable consultation services, for multiple purposes: to network, get some fresh air, get an idea of what home owners are faced with at present moment, and provide his services to whomever might need a bit of assistance in the design-related realm. What a creative idea, especially in our current economic climate. This Friday, be sure to pop in; the Marketect is In!
