. . . the month of leaves and roses

When pleasant sights salutes the eyes

and pleasant scents the noses.”

This weekend will be bustling here in Kennett Square – you can enjoy the First Friday Art Stroll before heading to the Kennett Flash for live music and a special tasting of Vermont beers, and then enjoy some handcrafted brews on the streets on Saturday! As always, we have our Farmers Market on Friday from 2 pm – 6 pm, at the intersection of State Street and Union Street, to kick off the weekend’s fun!

Expect to see all of your favorite weekly vendors, as well as our beloved First Friday vendors, including a few new faces!

Anita’s Guacamole is back and will be settling in next to Inverbrook Farm in the alley.

A warm welcome to Holly, former market manager, and her kids entertainment table – although, Holly doesn’t need a table to entertain anyone!

Frecon Farms is here for the season! We are wringing our hands in anticipation of their juciy cherries – check them out on State Street, located next to Great Harvest Bread Company!

Please join us in welcoming Will Hurd of Footprint Architecture and Design, who will be offering up his valuable services for a mere 25¢!

Will is well versed with sustainable architecture, and is happy to sit and discuss your thoughts, confusions or concerns on a variety of topics. He assures us that no topic is too obscure – in the past, he’s helped folks at the Newark Farmers Market with things like sustainable  design, energy efficiency, renovation planning, home additions, optimizing the use of existing  household spaces, design concepts for  a new home, straw-bale construction, deck design, tree houses and outbuildings, sustainable materials, and household modifications for children and  grandchildren!

Week after week, the Kennett Square Farmers Market reaches out to our local community in hopes that we foster working relationships and budding sustainable discussions. Help us reach out to even more – bring a friend to the market, or link us on your website or Facebook! We want this year to be even better than last – and you can help us! See you Friday!
