The Market has been very fortunate in regard to the support it has received from the larger community.  This support comes in many forms, including financial sponsorship (opportunities are still available for business and nonprofits sponsorship).

One such sponsor is the Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County and its environmentally minded consulting service Landscape Visionaries.  At the helm of this exciting new program is former market manager and Kennett borough stalwart Holly Tyson.  Whether its an organic vegetable garden or wildlife habitat, Holly can help you find just the right fit for your backyard.  She has gathered all the local experts and resources needed to turn your home into an environmental oasis.  Best of all, Holly will be brining her vivacious spirit, resources, and activities to the Kennett Market on First Fridays, a unique new element to the already diverse vendor line-up.  To get a taste of all that Holly has to offer make sure you check out this weekend’s Eco-Fest:

The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County welcomes everyone to the second annual 9K/5K Trail Run and Family Eco-Festival on Saturday, May 8 , from 10am-3pm in Kennett Square. The event is being held at The Land Conservancy’s recently acquired 82 acre Stateline Woods Nature Preserve off of Old Kennett Road in scenic southern Chester County. There will be activities for everyone, as the community spends the day celebrating land preservation with live music, food (including a demonstration from Market Manager Abby Morgan), wine and beer sampling, environmental vendors and workshops, childrens’ activities, guided hikes, yoga and more.

The event is a fundraiser for The Land Conservancy’s and their ongoing land preservation and stewardship efforts in the region. General Admission for the Family Eco-Festival is $10 for TLC members, $15 for non-members, and $25 to participate in the trail run and Eco-Festival.
