After a few days of rain-induced hibernation, it seems like everyone in Kennett Square are once again starting to show their pretty faces! Just this morning, I ran into three friendly strangers who all chatted me up about the 2009 KSQ Farmers Market opening next week! We’re glad it’s not just us who are gearing up – the whole town is rallying for a great opening weekend!

Here are the details. . .

Friday, May 15 at 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm
Located in the alley between the Genesis Building & Currie Salon, on State Street
Lots of vendors with local produce, meats, cheeses, prepared foods, and plants!

We can’t wait to see everyone at the market – and for those who are looking to extend the exhilaration of Opening Day, here’s a special invitation for you! We’ve decided that the Decade of Delicious should be celebrated monthly after the farmers market closes – what better way to spend a Friday evening than being in the company of local like-minded folks?

A vendor from the start, Inverbrook Farm, is kicking off the season by inviting market-goers back to the farm for our newest monthly extravaganza, The Roving Fete! A $5 donation will be collected and will go to the Kennett Square Music Fund, which helps us bring live music to the market for all to enjoy. Grab a bottle of wine in town from Flickerwood and BYO over to Inverbrook Farm (RSVP to Claire Murray for directions) and enjoy light fare and great company in a beautiful outdoor setting. This will be weather-permitting and we’ll be sure to keep an eye out for the forecast!

Hope to see you all there!
